My kids were so excited, just over the moon. Yesterday at check in my family was told we would be upgraded to a suite due to an overbooking. After booking through their main line they proceeded to try to sell me on my next trip. Promised me there was nothing else that would be added to the bill. In fact the person on the phone knew nothing about it. When booking I was told there was no per day fee. I should have known this hotel was not worth it. You pay through the nose, and should expect more. Especially one of their "luxe brands" in a very swanky area of Manhattan. This is by far my most disappointing stay at an IHG property. I didn't have my wallet so that sent me back downstairs. Can't charge to the room either because they aren't affiliated with the hotel. Charged $25 for a bad mixed drink, served in a plastic cup. 7) go up to have a drink on the 15th floor roof bar inside. He rolls his eyes and tells me to "just forget it"! No offer to find me a better room faster, add points, nothing. I said "I'm going up to use the room right now, so if you don't have anything for me to move into, I'll have to check back in a couple hours when I leave". He proceeds to INSIST that I go get all my stuff, leave it with him, and they'll notify me when another room is available. Asks if I'd switch to a single because they need doubles. 6) the next morning I need a new key and the guy at the desk sees I'm in a two bed. I also have pretty high status and I'm given a terrible room overlooking a dirty alley. ![]() He is unable to fix the window but jams it shut so I can't use it. 5) window is broken and maintenance comes up quick. 4) the room is dirty, cracks in the walls/trim, and just generally a crappy and worn out looking room. 2) pull over on my 3+ hour car trip to look at parking info in the app and when I arrive I'm told the charge is $110/night for parking!!! 3) I booked a single bed room and on arrival I have two beds (important for later). Nobody picked up 2x, and I was disconnected 2x. 1) called 4x on the day of arrival to inquire about parking. The Hotel Indigo Lower East Side was a disappointment even before I arrived! Very poor experience all the way through my two night stay. I'm Platinum Elite, almost Diamond with IHG, and I've stayed at their brands all over the world.
